Philadelphia was the first stop on the trip after landing in NYC on September 1st 2001. Philadelphia is a beautiful city with a wonderful historical town centre, particularly for historians a great place to visit.
Unfortunately we had only few hours of time, but after these hours I am certain that I would have wanted to spend more time walking through the 'Streets of Philadelphia'.
And also the surroundings of the city offer many attractions. Despite the film 'Witness' I couldn't believe how strong the contrast between the Amish and the new world ('the Englishmen') really is. A visit to a Amish house brought some information and opened my eyes. It is definitly an experience, if you discover a horse carriage, which seems to originate from another world, between huge trucks and modern cars.
1. Mirror
One of the first pictures taken on this vacation. I like working with mirrors or
reflections. Most of the time it doesn't really work for one reason or another but

8-10. Skyline
These three pictures developed within 60 seconds from our driving Ford. Sometimes one

11. Gras in the wind
Impression from Amish County
12. Forbidden picture
The Amish don't like to have their pictures taken. But the driver of this carriage
probably noticed nothing
