With all joy about the good working new camera and the really good pictures for a first day a bitter aftertaste stayed with me - like it usually does after I visit a zoo.
It really is a difference, whether you are lucky enough to see a lion or an antelope in the Kruger nationalpark or if you see the same animal a small zoo-cage. Some animals are just not meant to live in a zoo. For example the jaguar, who went up and down in his cage always in the same way. Seemingly psychotic or disturbed.
But probably you must accept these circumstances, if you want to observe animals from close-up. And probably (hopefully) not all animals do suffer that much.
1. Favourite (1)
For me leopards - together with cheetahs - are the most beautiful cats. And that will not change.
Period!
2. Majesty
I am not disturbed by the crowd on the other side of the fence, this cat might have thought
3. Kiss
The kiss of the lion. Almost no difference to the muzzle of your pet at home, is there?
4. Dental work
Better, not to get toooo close to this beautiful leopard
5. Danger
It is hardly conceivable that this awkward (and not particularly pretty) water inhabitant
belongs to the most dangerous animals
6. No Name
I admit it, I forgot the name. On my next visit I will take a picture of the signpost
7. Favourite (2)
For me cheetahs - together with leopards - are the most beautiful cats. And that will not change.
Period!
8. Bear
One of my favorites too. Bears do have something... And I do know why I am looking forward
to Alaska in July
9. Friendship
The kaiman and the turtle. A dream combination
10. Sweet
What is he called in english? I don't know - category: funny
11-12. Mealtime
That could be a giraffe enjoying her dessert
13. Penguin
Look into my eyes, little one
14. Dental work (2)
The otter with teeths, many of us might be envious, right?
15.-16. Antlers
Really impressive horns
17. Skull
These animals are called 'Totenkopfäffchen' in german - which means little skull-ape.
Not really a nice name for creatures that sweet...
