The first four words any experienced Paris traveler will name in context with shopping are: Champs Elysees and Galeries Lafayette. And it is true: without any problems at all you can spend fortunes within the hour. But sometimes it is even more fun to take advise from Walt Whitman: 'There are two ways in Paris and I took the one less traveled by.' Okay, it's not really Uncle Walt but close.
Anyway: You shouldn't miss the Galeries Lafayette, even if you just want to stand on the ground floor and look up to admire the famous dome. Then at the latest you will realize that there might be a vast difference between Lafayette and Walmart.
1-4. Luxury
Things the world doesn't need but which are nice to look at
5.-7. Dome
Advise for everyone who wants to get the whole dome in one picture: bring a good wide-angle
lens. Everyone else: enjoy the details :-)
8. Mouthwatering
Probably very nice to eyes and stomach...
9. Luxury (2)
You like sunglasses for 349 Euro (400 Dollar)? Let's go to Paris, then. Just to make sure:
you only get the glasses, not the plastic head behind them
