Despite several journeys to Paris 2004 was actually the first time where I found a few hours to visit Versailles. I admit it: I missed something in former times. Not only does Versailles belong to the most impressive, but also to the historically most important monuments in Europe.
I was the first visitor crossing the beautiful gardens on an even more beautiful saturday morning. And very soon I felt like Ludwig XIV. There is a lot to do in Versailles... Although you do need a big wallet, for the prices are really ridiculous. 4,90 Euro for 1 Cappucino, 20 Euro for a visit in the castle.
I admit, I was a bit shocked by these prices, so all I did was walking the gardens with my own cheap bottle of water :-) It was worth it anyway.
